Need to Drive?

If you need to drive, purchasing a vehicle with reduced emissions and improved fuel economy is easier than ever! Options include electric, natural gas and propane vehicles as well as simply using biodiesel, ethanol and driving efficiently in your existing or new vehicle.

  • Biodiesel

Biodiesel is “pour and go” technology- a renewable fuel that can be used in any diesel engine. Produced in NC,it can be used straight or easily blended with petroleum diesel. B20 signifies a 20% biodiesel mix while B100 is 100% biodiesel. You may be fueling with B5 already! Learn more

  • Efficiency

The best fuel is what’s not burned! Eco-driving is the first step to fueling what matters. With better driving, you can contribute to cleaner air and reduce fuel use by as much as 30%, saving you big $! When buying a new or used vehicle read the labels to save more. Learn more

  • Electric

Plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and hybrid vehicles reduce emissions and fuel costs! 100% battery PEVs produce zero tailpipe emissions while plug-in hybrids have an internal combustion engine that provides extended range. Hybrids (HEVs), which do not plug in, capture energy from braking to charge a battery to increase fuel efficiency. Learn more

  • Ethanol

Ethanol- a high octane, renewable fuel reduces harmful emissions. Cellulosic ethanol can reduce CO2 emissions 86%! Virtually all gasoline has 10 percent ethanol. Flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) use 85 % ethanol / 15 % gasoline or any blend in between. With over 50 FFVs available, FFVs do not cost any more than conventional vehicles! Learn more

  • Natural Gas

Natural gas, a low carbon fuel used by industry and at home, is increasingly available as a clean burning transportation fuel. Renewable natural gas can also be produced from decaying organic materials in landfills, plant and livestock waste. Pick ups, passenger vehicles, vans, buses and trucks, they all run on nat gas! • Propane

Propane autogas, or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is a clean burning byproduct of natural gas processing or crude oil refining. The U.S. is the world’s largest producer of propane. With light, medium and heavy duty applications there is an array of more than 140,000 LPG-fueled vehicles on U.S. roads. Learn more
